MDMA and P?
Question:
I usually find the opposite with my eczema. After a big night out on E, even when (always) I take care to drink plenty of water before, during, and after, my skin can become quite tough, redenned and leathery. It is not so much itchy as inflamed. I would be very interested to hear of others experience! / sub – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – As a frequent partier, and occasional [a few times a month] Ecstasy user, I’ve noticed a correlation that at first I thought must just be in my head — after a little further investigation I’m certain that in the days after a long night partying and a few caps of E that the redness and scaling are signifigantly reduced on all the P I have [knees, elbows, knuckles]. This effect doesn’t last more than a few days, but I found it interesting nonetheless. Anyone else have similar experience? is it just related to immune supression? thanks:) -g

That would tie in to various factoids about depression and Ps being correlated and anti-depressants being helpful to keeping the flakes down (true in my experience with zoloft). Another factor is the amount of exercise and sweating you do, which probably has more to do with the immediate benefits you’re noticing than how many happy pills you took… That said, I used to do the first-aid station at some dance-parties in PDX back around ‘94-’95 and MDMA is very bad for you in all sorts of ways that have nothing to do with your skin. Short term effects can include seizures, paranoia, etc. Longer term effects are things like memory loss, acute depression (MDMA causes your brain to release a bunch of serotonin all at once which is why it feels so good, flip the switch a few too many times and it’s a bit harder to get the level back up to what it was, then you crash) add to which people who sell pills at clubs are not exactly careful about what goes into the product and you are taking STUPID RISKS w/ your health which if your Ps is anything like mine is already fairly compromised. I swore never to bother with E after the second time I helped load a spazzed out seizure case into an ambulance. — <html<head<titlehtml sig</title</head<body<div style="font:sans-serif; font-size:72pt;line-height:84pt;color:blue1;"<ul<lisexy is good</li<li linux is good</li<liqed: linux is sexy</li</ul<hr<hr<hr<hr<hr<hr <a href="http://www.efn.org/~laprice"laprice at efn dot org</a</body</html

Oh man, marijuana for cancer and glaucoma patients, and ecstasy for people with skin disorders!
THAT could be a fun cure! But I thought ecstasy could also rot your spine (or is that just the impure stuff)? Ecstasy can cause really bad dehyrdation though–maybe that’s somehow related to its effect on your skin? –Will G.

When I first started getting "P" lesions I was touring with the Grateful Dead and was using a great number of differant hallucinogenic substances. I actually first thought that "P" was what I called an "Acid Rash" because of how it would pop up the morning after concerts, which prompted me to abstain. Abstanance, however, didnt help since within a few years Psoriasis ended up covering 75% of my body and has remained ever since even 12 years later. I am now a very healthy well tanned individual with itchy "P" all over my body *shrugs*. Good Luck Paul D Ensor
