This is not an answer, but the impression I have gotten from what I’ve read, not as a health-care worker, but as one who has a certain variety of it. I know I’ve seen it stated both ways. I think, since the proportion is not too far from equal by gender, it depends on: 1. The racial/geograhical population (M/F ratio may differ a little in this, per the rac./geog.)/patient database. 2. What signs and symptoms are used in the definition of glaucoma used in the determination of the answer to this question, or whether the question is actually being answered for a particular range of variety of glaucoma, such as somebody’s idea of "primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG)". The proportions of variations on glaucoma and politics of definition also vary with what is said in ‘1.’ above. Given not a lot of difference, generally, in the male and female totals of any particular accounting, I’m not sure just what the purpose of this question might be here or elsewhere. Ray (Hope you can decipher this in English; it would be some effort for me to put it in Spanish.)
