Question:

Glad to hear the good news!  Sorry to hear about the bad stuff.  It’s always something with this disease.   Viv – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -"Rita Navarro" <splas…@earthlink.net> wrote: >Hi All, >    Well, I had my post-op checkup last week, and a month has rolled on by >since the last surgery took place on the 18th of February! >    The good news: >The left eye is getting better after the cataract removal and intraocular >implant… I am starting to see better! My name is Jim Bauch I am 46 years old.  Have been under treatment for pigmentary glaucoma for 6 years.  Recently developed cataracts so sounds like I went similar route with inocular implants and a tabeculetomy (spelling).  I also have monovision left eye for distance right for reading.  My presure is around 10 consistently and vision seem to be improving.  Last surgery about 2 weeks ago.  I started taking anti-oxident vitamins containing bilberry and seems to be helping.  Might be all in my head but seems to help.

Hi Jim,     Yes, I am taking double doses of Ginko Biloba, mostly because I am cramming for an exam on Easter Monday re: A+ Certification (Core section aka Hardware)     Not only does it keep me focused, I notice that my eye, the vision and clarity seem to help!     Still have a ways to go to get the vision better, but I am happy that the cataract blurriness and glare are long gone!     Yours Truly, Susan Navarro – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -BAUCHJ wrote in message <19990328085203.29236.00001…@ng-fw1.aol.com>… >My name is Jim Bauch I am 46 years old.  Have been under treatment for >pigmentary glaucoma for 6 years.  Recently developed cataracts so sounds like I >went similar route with inocular implants and a tabeculetomy (spelling).  I >also have monovision left eye for distance right for reading.  My presure is >around 10 consistently and vision seem to be improving.  Last surgery about 2 >weeks ago.  I started taking anti-oxident vitamins containing bilberry and >seems to be helping.  Might be all in my head but seems to help.

Hi All,     Well, I had my post-op checkup last week, and a month has rolled on by since the last surgery took place on the 18th of February!     The good news: The left eye is getting better after the cataract removal and intraocular implant… I am starting to see better! There was a point that the Prednisolone had to be upgraded in dosage to every 3 hours, but now it’s back up to 3x per day!     The Bad news: I noticed on the visual tests for the left eye, that it is still blurry on the outside corner of the eye… I guess I now have astigmatism in the left eye. (I do have this condition in the right eye, and the doctor told me that this is common with patients; one eye with the condition will usually result in both eyes having the condition) The other two things that need to be worried about down the line are wrinkles in the retina, and healing scar tissue around the cataract. (Because of the age, and my good health, my eye is healing at an accelerated rate, causing scar tissue.)     On a more personal note, I took my A+ Technician’s certification exam (software edition) and passed! I have one more exam to take to become licensed! Also, I graduated from the Computer Technician’s course, but I am not yet well enough to work, and the doctor hasn’t released me yet, at least not until May, 1999. Take care, and my best to you all! Sincerely, Susan P. Navarro Ventura, CA USA
