Heart test tomorrow

Question:

I tried posting Parts 1 and 2 of my Magnum Opus on mood stabilizers for the third time and neither showed up. Was it you who offered if I emailed them to you, to try to get them to post?

No, James, it was I that offered to post them if you emailed them to me.  I have a way to get it to work! HeatherOK

post? James, I would be more than happy to if you want. It would help if you would describe what exactly the limitation is that you are running into. – Gandalf

Response:

<Posted and Mailed Thank you Colleen. I really have been about stressed out these past few months. If it’s not one thing, it’s another. A lot has happened since I got married in October. Congratulations! I didn’t know you had gotten married.

Thank you James. Including my wife in the hospital for major surgery, my mother passing away, me being manic for over a month, then depressed for months, the COPD, now more testing of heart (related to the COPD). Those are a lot of stressors. At least your stress EKG is over!

Add to all that X-rays confirm I have kidney stones. And to top it all off, almost all of the Bipolar Meds that have done me good are now contraindicated because of either the COPD, Diabetes, or Glaucoma. I may be forced to become a "witch doctor" and "faith healer" because all the Bipolar meds are dangerous for my other conditions. <wry grin Even Neurontin and Topamax are dangerous for my COPD and Glaucoma (respectively) and I had to go off Zyprexa because of my diabetes. I’m too young to be this old and F*&%ed Up. How about Lamictal as a mood stabilizer?

I’ll have to talk with Dr. Barb about that. I guess its worth a shot. I guess Geodon (an AP) would be contraindicated because of your heart condition. Sorry, I emailed Parts 1 and 2 to Ralph to see if he managed to get them posted. If they don’t show up in a day or so, then I will email them to you. Of course since I only get a partial newsfeed, I never know if the problem lies with your moderation software or with my newsfeed. :0( HeatherOK

The problem is with the moderation software. If it receives a post that is longer than about 200 lines, it garbles the final lines into total mishmash! When I discovered this, I divided my post on 25 meds with mood stabilizing properties into 2 posts – each of which was less than 200 lines. But no matter how many times I resubmit them, they never appear. It MAY have something to do with the fact that the moderation software sees this as an attempt to repost the same post (as in SPAM). Of course you have to be a Moderator in order to attempt to bypass this restriction. – Gandalf

Awww.  Take it a bit at a time, Ralph.  There are other psych meds available.  You have multiple whamys going on now.  Get control of what you can and then take the rest a bit at a time. c

I was on the treadmill for about 2 minutes. Then i started having trouble breathing, my pulse rate jumped to 150 and the doctor said that i had had enough. Actually, it might not have even been two minutes; it didn’t take very long at all.         I had been told that i wouldn’t have to be on a treadmill at all by the Dr. that RXed the test; but the doctor who gave me the test said that the drugs they give instead of putting you on the treatmill would make it harder for me to breathe than the treadmill would be.         Then, of course, I had to take one of my bad caughing fits inside the damned x-ray machine when i couldn’t move or sit up. Oh well, I survived. <grin hugs, Ralph – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hi Ralph, I have had a thalium treadmill.  Basically it is a treadmill test only you also have an IV going.  This allows them to scan your body to check for blockages, etc. after the treadmill.  It is really nothing to worry about unless you really hate treadmill tests.  My last treadmill was last fall and I didn’t last long enough for it to be a problem. (my blood pressure went up too high to quickly and they stopped the test) I’ll keep you in my thoughts.  I know how you must feel – I’m always stressed before any new medical test. Hugs, Bonnie

Thank you Vicky. Lets just say that I am not a very happy camper. My favorite Bipolar meds that have done well by me for years, are now contraindicated because of either my COPD, Diabetes, or Glaucoma. I’ve gone from being on high doses of as many as 6 meds to control my Bipolar; to being on lesser doses of only 3 of the original 6. i don’t see how I can possibly have the same level of stability with less than half of the original medication levels that just barely kept me stable when they were at maximum strength. I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow. hugs, Ralph – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I go into the hsopital tomorrow for a stress test with thalium, whatever the hell that is.
