Query – Treatment Options
Question:
What a terrific response. Very illuminating.
Response:
In reply to your Query, I had a similar experience and had this combination implant and trabeculectomy operation 3 1/2 years ago and it stabilized my pressure to 14-18. up to now. However Intraocular pressure is not the complete answer to glaucoma but is the only factor doctors can do anything about. Peripheral vision loss may continue. However if you do have the operation, make sure of the following: 1. The doctor should be very experienced having done thousands of cataracts and at least hundreds of these combination . Go to a "cataract mill" specializing only in these operations. 2. Make sure he gives you an injection of anti-scarring medication such as 5FU. etc.. If you have any questions, please contact me and let me know how you make out.
