Your symptoms sound very similar to mine, except I was diagnosed with Pigmantary Dispersion syndrome when I was about 20, (I’m 34 now). My preassure in my right eye was not responding well to the medications I was taking. My pressure was also around 27 – 32. I had the ALT surgery in that eye and it helped immediately. My pressure dropped to 9 two days after the surgery. Over the next 6 – 9 months my pressure started creeping up to around 19 – 20 with the aid of medication. I had this surgery about 5 years ago. and now I’m struggeling to keep my pressures in the low 20s with 4 medications. My doctor at the time told me that my reaction to the surgery was typical for a person with Pigmant Dispersion glaucoma. I wish you the best. Oh, by the way I have found (actually pointed to) a very good WWW site regarding Glaucoma. Take a look at this FAQ http://www.web-xpress.com/iaoo/glaucoma/glaufaq.html

Hello James, My situation is similar. I was diagnosed at about age 32-33. I am now 42. The laser treatments(had 2 in my right eye) were very effective. But I needed to continue medication and I suspect you will too. I have had no substantial visual field loss since detection (though my right eye was pretty bad by detection time). Since I expect to live quite a bit longer, I don’t know if I am only prolonging the inevitable by choosing medication over actual surgery. But so far, my condition is under control so I’m sticking with this course of treatment. Currently I am using pilocarpine ocuserts also (and have been for a long time) and I’m also using Timoptic XE. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -n <4mv5cs$…@chile.it.earthlink.net>, hendric…@earthlink.net writes: >cinet…@passport.ca (James Ruxton) wrote: >> I was diagnosed with pigmentary glaucoma about 8 months ago.
