My 9 year old son has glaucoma. His last eye check up on 7/16 was bad. Pressure in both eyes was elevated to Lf 32, Rt35.  He has been on Timotic eye drops since discovering his juvenile glaucoma.  Our family eye doctor, James B. Wise, said he needs immediate Yag laser surgery.  Appearently, his iris is not filtering fluid.  If the Yag does not work he will have to go in for full blown glaucoma surgery.

I passed on your post to a friend. He replied: Hi I am not a doctor. But I do have celiac disease. As celiac disease is genetic (in terms of the predisposition) and is highly associated with many other autoimmune diseases, I wondered if your patient and her family might have gluten intolerance at the root of their high incidence of glaucoma? At the outset, only one family member would need to be tested, to see if cd could be the culprit. I hope my suggestion is helpful. Best Wishes, Ron Hoggan For more information on gluten intolerance this page points to all Net resources:   The Gluten-Free Page:  http://www.panix.com/~donwiss/ Don. — |Fidonet:  Don Wiss 2:254/211.6 | | From The Cray BBS <– Inet Gate 0181 300 5971 & 0181 302 7250.
