Glaucoma medications

Question:

Hello Bill, I was taking Alphagan and I found I started to develop continuous migraines and drowsiness to the point of falling asleep in the afternoons – something I never usually do. I get migraines from time to time and they are relieved by medication, but I was using the medication and after a few hours or by the next morning the headache was back. It was 3-4 days and then I saw my opthalmologist who has now put me on other drops – dorzolamide hydrochloride. I have yet to go back and check that they are lowering my pressures properly but so far (I started them on november 19) they are not giving me any side effects. All the best o you and your friend, Josh (no medical qualifications and only recently started looking into things via the net and this newsgroup) – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Bill wrote: > I know someone who is taking Alphagan for open angle glaucoma.  I > understand that it is safer than the older beta-blocker drugs, but he is > experiencing migraines and drowsiness.  Are there any other non-beta > blockers out there or any new drugs coming out that might be as effective > as Alphagan?  Any response would be greatly appreciatead. > Bill

I know someone who is taking Alphagan for open angle glaucoma.  I understand that it is safer than the older beta-blocker drugs, but he is experiencing migraines and drowsiness.  Are there any other non-beta blockers out there or any new drugs coming out that might be as effective as Alphagan?  Any response would be greatly appreciatead. Bill
